Silverfish
+ Firebrats: |
Silver and Greyfish. 1.2 cm long, seen around
paper, fabric and in washrooms or kitchens. Firebrats
prefer temperatures above 28 degrees Celsius. |

Earwigs: |
Dark Brown. Between 1.5 to 2.5 cm long. Insects
very active at night and hide in cracks or underneath
objects with moisture during the day. They can be
a real nuisance when they get into homes in great

Cockroach: |
Yellowish Brown with two dark bands, mostly in
warm areas behind refrigerators, inside stoves,
cupboards. Female carries an egg capsule. Normally
doesn't need the male to reproduce( parthenogenesis).
Can produce up to 300 baby roaches in her life span
(6-7 months) |

Carpenter
Ants: |
Brown or Black. 6-10 mm long. They dwell in and
excavate wood. Tunnels are clean in appearance.
Homes near wooded areas are most likely to become
infested. |

Sowbugs
+ Pillbugs: |
Grey or Brown. Armadillo like bodies with segments.
1-1.5 long. Found in damp basements or under soil
around the house. After rains they are more active
and eventually they can be seen in large numbers.
When in danger,(Pillbugs) turn into a ball,where
Sawbugs do not because of a tail-like appendage. |

Fleas: |
Dark Brown. (Very small. 2-4mm long). Jumping
insects, transported by outdoor pets or peoples
clothing when coming inside the house from the garden
in the summer. Larvae can live in carpet fibers
for many months. |

Spiders: |
Eight legs with no wings or antennae. Color varies
between species from light to dark Brown. Can be
found in both damp and warm parts of the house,
producing webs to catch their prey. They are beneficial,

Mice
and Rats: |
Light or dark brown. Mouse droppings are abundant
and look like a grain of rice, but black. Rat droppings
are 5-6 times larger and generally dark brown and
very few found. |
